Middle School Curriculum (G6–G8): Building Foundations for a Global Future
At BIBA Middle School, we have carefully designed a curriculum for students in Grades 6 to 8 that integrates a global perspective with strong local roots. We focus not only on imparting knowledge but also on developing future-ready skills, guiding students to become inquisitive, empathetic, and lifelong learners.
Core Curriculum: Integrating IB and International Standards for Depth and Breadth
Our curriculum is built around the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework, enriched with the depth and rigor of the Chinese national curriculum, forming a unique dual-track approach.
Strong Academic Foundation: Students engage deeply with bilingual Chinese and English literature, dual-pathway mathematics, sciences, and humanities—including Chinese history—ensuring comprehensive academic development.
Creativity and Wellness: Through a diverse range of arts, design, drama, and physical wellness courses, we nurture aesthetic sensibility, innovative thinking, physical health, and teamwork. Every child is supported to find their unique voice and grow into a well-rounded future creator.
Broadening Horizons and Future Readiness: Courses such as French, media arts, and career exploration help students actively discover their connections to the world. Through practical experiences, they gain clarity and confidence about future career paths and personal directions.
As a culminating project of their middle school journey, eighth graders undertake a year-long Community Impact Project using Project-Based Learning (PBL). They identify real community issues, take action, and apply their knowledge to make a tangible difference in the world.

Whole-Person Education: Supporting Each Child’s Individual Growth
BIBA Middle School emphasizes six core competencies: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, self-management, and proactive inquiry. These form the foundation for students’ future learning and personal development. Acknowledging the individual differences of middle schoolers, BIBA offers tailored support such as specialized English coaching, enabling every student to thrive and gain confidence in a bilingual environment, regardless of their starting point. Through flexible tiered instruction, inclusive classrooms, and personalized mentoring, we support students both academically and emotionally, accompanying them throughout the critical stages of adolescent development.
We encourage students to embrace challenges, learn from experience, and grow through practice. Our ultimate goal is to empower them to become self-aware, independent, and caring young individuals.
High School Pathways (G9–G12)
At BIBA, we understand that high school is a pivotal time in a student’s life—a period of both preparation and self-discovery. It’s not just about getting into university; it’s about building character, exploring potential, and shaping meaningful futures. We offer four distinct pathways—IGCSE, IBDP, A Level, and the Special Talents Pathway (STP)—each designed to balance academic excellence with personal growth. Our aim is to guide students not only toward top universities, but toward becoming thoughtful, resilient, and compassionate global citizens.
We value achievement, but we care more about nurturing a lasting love for learning, the courage to explore, and a sense of responsibility toward others. No matter which path they choose, every student receives strong academic support, thoughtful university guidance, and a caring community that walks alongside them.

IGCSE (G9–G10): Building a Strong and Adaptive Foundation
The IGCSE curriculum helps students explore a wide range of subjects and develop well-rounded skills. Core courses include bilingual literature, mathematics, sciences, business, humanities, and the arts—with additional options like French, drama, and computer science. This exploratory approach helps students discover their interests and strengths. With extra support in language and career awareness, students gain the confidence and adaptability they need to succeed in their next steps.
-
IBDP (G11–G12): Think Deeply, Engage Globally
The IB Diploma Programme is respected worldwide not only for its academic rigor, but for how it shapes curious and responsible learners. Students study across six subject groups and complete the core components: Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). The IB encourages students to think critically, conduct research, and make a difference. We aim to educate not just strong students, but engaged and empathetic citizens.
-
A Level (G11–G12) : Focus on Strengths, Excel in Your Field
A Levels are ideal for students who already have a clear sense of their academic strengths. They choose specialized subject combinations in science, business, or humanities during the AS and A2 phases. The program allows in-depth study and can be complemented with independent research and community service. A Levels are highly valued by universities in the UK, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, and beyond, offering a straightforward path to specialized degrees.

Special Talents Pathway - STP (G9–G12): Excellence in Both Academics and Talent
The STP is designed for students who show outstanding promise in sports or the arts. It allows them to pursue professional-level training without compromising their academics. Under expert coaches and artists, students gain performance and exhibition experience at national and international levels. The program builds discipline, confidence, and leadership—helping students stand out both in their talent and in the classroom, opening doors to world-class universities through dual strengths.
Whichever pathway a student chooses, BIBA provides dedicated academic coaching, personalized university planning, and whole-person support. We are here to help each student find their direction, develop their strengths, and step confidently into the future.

Student Clubs | Explore, Compete, Collaborate, and Grow
At BIBA, student clubs are more than just extracurricular activities—they are a launchpad for personal growth and global engagement. With over 70 clubs, many have competed and achieved outstanding results in international competitions in areas such as robotics, debate, Model United Nations, and science Olympiads. These experiences not only enrich students’ profiles but also strengthen their university applications.
At the high school level, club involvement aligns naturally with the IB CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) framework. Through active participation, project leadership, and collaborative initiatives, students develop well-rounded competencies, social responsibility, and reflective learning—all essential elements of CAS.
By joining clubs, students gain:
A Platform for International Competitions: Many clubs offer opportunities to compete on a global stage, honing specialized skills and resilience under pressure.
A Boost for University Applications: Sustained involvement, awards, and leadership roles in clubs demonstrate passion, commitment, and individuality—qualities highly valued by top universities.
A Fulfillment of CAS Requirements: Club activities integrate seamlessly into the CAS program, helping students design projects, reflect meaningfully, and showcase holistic growth.
A Global Network of Peers: Through competitions and exchanges, students broaden their perspectives, form friendships, and connect with international communities that share their interests.
We encourage every student to join or launch a club—to pursue their interests with curiosity and dedication. Here, they are not just participants but creators, leaders, and changemakers. And that’s exactly the kind of growth story the world’s best universities look for.
BIBA Varsity Teams — Growth Beyond the Game: More Than Trophies, More Than Acceptance
At BIBA, our high school varsity teams are a vital part of our holistic education approach. They have excelled in both domestic and international competitions, while helping students build character, develop leadership, and strengthen teamwork through sports.
Through systematic training and competitive experiences in basketball, volleyball, football, tennis, track and field, golf, swimming, and more, students not only improve physically and build resilience—they also learn essential skills like time management, self-discipline, and collaboration.
Notably, participation in varsity sports has become a distinct advantage in our students’ university applications. We have numerous success stories of students gaining early acceptance to world-renowned universities through outstanding athletic achievement. These experiences demonstrate perseverance, leadership, and well-rounded qualities—attributes highly valued by top universities around the world.
At BIBA, we celebrate victories, but we value growth even more—because true education extends far beyond trophies and acceptance letters. It lies in the character, capabilities, and confidence each student gains along the way.
